Early Intervention Job Openings
Occupational, Physical & Speech Therapist (Contractor)
If you enjoy helping young children grow and develop then join our team! BARC’s Early Intervention program seeks licensed independent contractors who are willing to work in the home and community with children ages birth to two years old who have special learning needs.Requirements:
Requirements for all positions include valid driver’s license and own vehicle for agency business .Speech therapists for birth to age 3 program: Master’s degree, PA license to practice. ASHA certification preferred.
Speech therapists – ages 3 – 5 program: Bachelors degree. Master’s degree and state certification preferred.
Substitute Instructional Assistants
Join our team on a per diem providing services to children ages three to five with special learning needs at our early intervention center in Warminster. Work along with the classroom teacher in implementing each child’s individual education plan. Help in stimulating the children’s development through creative educational models and activities. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working in team environment. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma plus two years work experience with children in a childcare setting. Earn a higher wage using your knowledge of American Sign Language. Facilitate communication with an individual supported through the use of American Sign Language. The Interpreter is expected to integrate sign language with environmental factors which can foster or impede the message as well as conduct her/himself in a professional, ethical manner. Support will occur in various environments including community, medical, personal and work settings as directed by the Assistant Home Manager, Home Manager and/or Program Manager.The Interpreter will work with one assigned individual at one specific Doylestown area home when the individual requires interpretive supports. Standard shift will generally be 3 pm to 11 pm. Days to be determined. One weekend day or every other weekend required.
Qualifications: Must be at least twenty-one years of age with a valid driver’s license and good driving record. High school diploma or equivalent. ability to communicate fluently, both expressively and receptively, utilizing American Sign Language. Experience with persons having developmental disabilities and/or senior citizens preferred.
Certificates, Licenses: Valid certification in American Sign Language/Interpreter Education. In lieu of actual certification, BARC will consider experience using American Sign Language and documentation of training in American Sign Language/Interpreter Education as an alternative to meet this qualification. Life Sharing Provider
Become a Life Sharing provider to an adult with developmental disabilities. Life Sharing is typically a long-term relationship allowing the individual to feel the security of becoming a member of a family and community. A Life Sharing provider may be a married couple, a single person or several single persons who are sensitive to individuals with special needs; who have access to transportation and a residence with adequate living space to welcome another family member. Participating families receive tax-free reimbursement for expenses incurred. A BA in the human service field plus a minimum of two years experience working with individuals having developmental disabilities, computer skills & valid drivers license are required. Activity Assistant
If you enjoy working with older adults then read on. Supervise and assist adults having developmental disabilities in a day program that emphasizes social and recreational activities. Implement daily activities allowing for maximum participation, as well as assistance with direct care to those supported. Must have a high school diploma or GED, and be physically able to provide physical assistance to individuals supported. Must be able to learn and become certified in CPR and First Aid. Carry out general warehouse duties in a production facility for adults with developmental disabilities. Assume primary responsibility for pick-up and delivery activities related to sub-contract work. Meet with the Assistant Production Manager daily to plan and coordinate the day’s activities. Assist with the production and training activities within the workshop as required. Complete all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain warehouse in neat and orderly manner. Perform materials handling and shipping/receiving duties.Qualifications: HS diploma or GED, valid PA driver’s license and good driving record with no motor vehicle violations. Able to pass physical exam to earn required medical card based on DOT regulations, proficient in computer programs, processing work, spreadsheets, inventory control and UPS shipping. Must be able to learn, become certified in and practice CPR, First Aid, OSHA Forklift/Pallet Jack training. Truck driving experience (17,001 lbs) preferred.
Production Coach
Provide support to adults with developmental disabilities involved in light assembly-line production activities. Act as a role model by reinforcing appropriate social and work behavior and document progress of workers supported. Requires a high school diploma or GED, –good communication skills, and ability to perform physical assembly work as well as assisting workers with direct care needs throughout the day. Full-time positions, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, available in our Quakertown and Warminster production facilities. Manage all phases of light assembly workshop program in Warminster serving adults with developmental disabilities to ensure efficient timely and productive work flow, safety and regulations compliance and effective teamwork by staff supervised to meet the individuals’ needs and the contract’s deadlines. The Production Manager works collaboratively with the Department Director and JOBS Manager to ensure effective contract procurement and successful placement of consumers in competitive employment. One year supervision experience and four years previous work experience in an industrial or production setting required. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. The Employee Relations Manager manages the functions related to performance management and associate retention; fosters teambuilding and leadership development; manages the implementation of the salary administration program and external surveys; manages the satisfaction survey program; ensures effective orientation programs; conducts tutorials and training on retention and performance management practices with supervisors and cross trains in other Human Resource positions. This position represents the agency at internal and external activities related to retention and assists with general human resource matters.The Employee Relations Manager works daytime hours, Monday through Friday, and is based in the corporate office in Holicong with scheduled weekly time at the Quakertown office. Travel to other BARC locations is expected on an as-needed basis. This position is expected to demonstrate support to individuals through consistent communication and practices among BARC sites, including assistance with maintenance of positive working relations with appropriate agencies, administrative officials, other associates and the general public.
Qualifications: BA in human resources management or related field; 3 years previous work experience in Human Resources preferred, 3 years staff supervision preferred; experience with staff development and team building, facilitating and mediation as well as salary administration and staff surveys and feedback. Valid drivers license and own vehicle for agency business (mileage reimbursed). Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel required and HR database (ABRA and ADP preferred). Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
