Early Intervention Job Openings

Community Supports Liaison (BERKS County)
Provide oral and written translation services for therapists and supported Spanish speaking families. The translation services will focus on the initial and rescheduling of appointments for these families and communication of referrals to other community agencies as necessary. The Community Supports Liaison will accompany therapists into the homes of Spanish speaking supported children as necessary. The Community Supports Liaison is responsible for translating internal and external documents from English to Spanish. This is a provisional position and hours will vary depending on the caseload of families requiring translation. Currently we anticipate 10 to 12 hours of work per week. The majority of families requiring services live within the Reading city limits. Some work will be done at BARC’s Early Intervention office in Wyomissing.

Qualifications: High School diploma; Fluent in oral and written Spanish; Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, including word processing; Valid PA driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and own transportation required for agency business; Applicants subject to criminal, motor vehicle and child abuse history clearances

Instuctional Assistant (Substitute)
Join our team on a per diem basis providing services to children with special learning needs at our early intervention centers in Croydon. Work along the classroom teacher in implementing each child’s individual education plan. Help in stimulating the children’s development through creative education models and activities. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working in team environment.

Qualifications: High school diploma plus two years work experience with children in a childcare setting. Work hours are generally 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Assignments are on an as-needed basis. EOE

Occupational & Speech Therapist (Contractor)

Physical Therapist (Contractor)

One opportunity is based in our Center in Croydon, PA serving children ages 3 to 5 with developmental delays. Flexible schedule during hours the center is open, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Assistant Home Manager
Want to grow in your career?  Then put down roots with BARC.  Assist the Home Manager to provide direct care and monitor all aspects of a residential group home in the Doylestown and Quakertown areas supporting adults with developmental disabilities.  Work as a team member to help build harmony and cooperation within the house.  Take the opportunity to develop your own supervisory skills for future career growth at BARC.  Build lasting relationships with those you support and work alongside.  Requires a minimum of six months experience working with individuals with special needs.  Must have a valid driver’s license and be physically able to provide assistance to the individuals supported.  Full-time position options, include afternoon, evening and weekend hours available in the Doylestown and Quakertown areas.  EOE.

Direct Support
Become part of a team of motivated direct care professionals.  Assist adults with developmental disabilities become more independent by offering guidance and support for daily living activities, self-help and social skills following prescribed support plans.  Encourage personal choice and community integration through various activities.  Requires education equivalent to high school, ability to learn approved safety techniques, and provide physical assistance to individuals supported.  Must be at least twenty-one years of age with a valid driver’s license and good driving record.   Various positions available in Doylestown and Quakertown areas including a variety of afternoon,evening and weekend hours. Home Manager
Use your leadership and direct care background to manage a Quakertown or Doylestown area group home serving adults having developmental disabilities. Provide support to individuals which create therapeutic relationships in both home and community settings. Train and supervise direct care staff to ensure active treatment and accurate documentation according to regulatory requirements. Life Sharing Provider
Become a Life Sharing provider to an adult with developmental disabilities. Life Sharing is typically a long-term relationship allowing the individual to feel the security of becoming a member of a family and community. A Life Sharing provider may be a married couple, a single person or several single persons who are sensitive to individuals with special needs; who have access to transportation and a residence with adequate living space to welcome another family member. Participating families receive tax-free reimbursement for expenses incurred. Nurse
Join our proactive team-oriented nursing team! We are seeking a full- time self-motivated LPN/RN to provide quality medical supports to adults with developmental disabilities in Central Bucks area CLA group homes and in Supported Living Program. Participate in planning from preadmission to discharge of individuals supported and maintain close communication with consumers, staff, community physicians, medical facilities, day program providers and family members. Small caseloads, team atmosphere & professional support. Hours are generally Monday to Friday 9 to 5 with some flexibility required. On call is required and is shared with all nurses on team. On call is one week every 3 to 4 weeks.

Requirements: Current RN or LPN license is required. Previous experience with persons having developmental disabilities is preferred. Must be able to work as team member, listen and communicate well with others and support agency/department philosophies. Computer skills needed for record keeping and communication. Must have valid driver’s license in state of residence and own vehicle to use as agency back-up (mileage is reimbursed). Must have acceptable driving record according to BARC policy. EOE

Nursing Supports Manager
Experienced RN needed to lead BARC's Upper Bucks Nursing Team. The Nursing Supports Manager, with the leadership of the Residential Director and Executive Director is responsible to the individuals supported for ensuring that each receives quality medical supports which need and exceed agency and regulatory requirements in accordance with federal, state and agency guidelines and in compliance with ICF and CLA regulations.

This is a full time position is based in Quakertown. The Nursing Supports Manager works with a peer in Central Bucks to ensure consistency of practice, documentation and policy development and implementation regarding medical services. This position assumes administrative and supervisory responsibilities regarding residential nursing associates and assures nursing compliance with all agency policies. The position will develop and train associates and residents in related health matters; provide staff training in medication administration and conduct monitoring of medication practices and documentation in the homes.

The Nursing Supports Manager works primarily daytime hours but flexibility is required the Nursing Supports Manager should demonstrate that 10% of his or her work time occurs in the home, when the individuals are present, to role model consistent medical support to individuals and encourage staff communication. The Nursing Supports Manager will assume nursing on-call rotational responsibilities for the department, as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Registered Nurses License required
· Demonstrated ability to work as a team leader
· Minimum one-year experience in staff supervision preferred
· Ability to listen and communicate well with others and support agency/department philosophies
· Valid PA driver's license, acceptable driving record and own vehicle to use as back-up for agency business.
· Computer skills
· Ability to work some non-traditional hours to meet the needs of the individuals supported
· Two years previous experience working with persons having developmental disabilities preferred

Vocational Services Job Openings

Production Coach
Provide support to adults with developmental disabilities involved in light assembly-line production activities. Act as a role model by reinforcing appropriate social and work behavior and document progress of workers supported. Requires a high school diploma or GED, –good communication skills, and ability to perform physical assembly work as well as assisting workers with direct care needs throughout the day. Full-time positions, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, available in our Warminster facility. Warminster candidates relying on public transportation could use Shuttle Services offered by Bucks County TMA (Warminster RUSH). EOE

Program Specialist
Create your own success stories with BARC. Full time Program Specialist sought to provide vocational services for adults with disabilities in a production facility at our Warminster workshop. Develop and review Individual Worker Program Plans, coordinate team meetings and maintain worker files. Provide counseling and support to individuals including personal hygiene, feeding and physical support and make recommendations for additional supports, therapy, service or programming to meet worker needs. . Must have a minimum bachelor’s degree in human services or related field with at least 30 credits in human services. One year experience working directly with persons having developmental disabilities required. Proficiency in Excel and MS Word software preferred. EOE

Rehabilitation Manager
The Rehabilitation Manager, with the leadership of the Director of Vocational Services, is responsible to the workers supported for providing quality case management services designed to help the workers achieve their goals regarding competitive or sheltered employment. The Rehabilitation Manager is guided by each worker’s support plan. Duties include overall management and leadership of clinical services for the facility in partnership with facility’s Site Manager as well as partnership collaboration and consensus on work practices with Site Manager and Rehabilitation Manager at Quakertown site.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate respect for persons supported in all interactions by developing therapeutic rapport.Assist individuals with personal care activities. (ie. restroom use, etc) Comply with agency Behavior Intervention and Planning Policy.Accurately administer medications and monitor those who self-administer. Follow the Medication Administration Policy and Procedures. Ensure staff are properly trained in medication administration. Review medication audits monthly.Ensure full compliance with intake and case management requirements through assignment to Program Specialist. Perform case management responsibilities, monitor program activities and prepare reports. Ensure that staff provides scheduled supports in accordance with individual program plans.Monitor referral, admission, and intake procedures including activities regarding acceptance, replies to inquiries, and referrals to departmental programs. Serve as a member on the admissions committee.Ensure compliance with intake and case management requirements by assignment to Program Specialist Develop and role model your initial and ongoing communication and conduct with your subordinates and others to demonstrate a respectful and supportive relationship. Guide the performance of those supervised, which includes setting expectations, orientation and training, coaching, supervision meetings and performance appraisal.

The Rehabilitation Manager is based at the BARC Production Services in Warminster, PA Work hours are generally 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is expected to demonstrate support to individuals through consistent communication and practices including assistance with maintenance of positive working relations with appropriate agencies, administrative officials, associates and others. The Rehabilitation Manager may be expected to fulfill portions of other Vocational staff’s duties in the absence of another team member and acts as the Site Manager in their absence.
